About Mr. Minner
The Pythagorean Theorem is considered to be one of the great marvels of mathematics. Discovered by each of several cultures at different times, the bulk of the credit is given to the Greek philosopher and mathematician, Pythagoras.
The theorem says that for any right triangle:
The sum of the squares of the legs of a right triangle is equal to the square of the hypotenuse.
The Pythagorean Theorem can actually be proven to be true. In fact, hundreds of proofs of this famous mathematical theorem have been made throughout history. A pictorial representation of what is meant by "squaring legs" and "squaring the hypotenuse"
is shown here.

Pythagoras, who lived over 2500 years ago in Greece, studied mathematics, geometry, art, music, and astronomy. You might be interested to know
that he headed a secret society of Pythagoreans who assembled for the sake of learning. He thought everything in the universe could be attributed to the study of numbers and that mathematics itself was inherent in nature.
He is the first known person of note to apparently treat women on the same level as men.
